Muharraq este fosta capitala, bogata in patrimoniu cultural precum Pearling Path (sit UNESCO, traseu pietonal prin case istorice si situri de perlare), Casa Shaikh Isa Bin Ali (exemplu conservat de arhitectura traditionala bahrainiana), fortul Arad (fort din secolul al XV-lea din apropierea aeroportului, frumos restaurat)

Tips pentru o vacanta in Bahrain

  1. Bahrainul este o tara musulmana, asa ca imbracati-va modest, mai ales atunci cand vizitati locuri religioase. Manifestarile publice de afectiune nu sunt bine vazute. In timpul Ramadanului, evitati sa mancati sau sa beti in public in timpul zilei.
  2. Incercati mancaruri locale precum machboos (orez condimentat cu carne) si samboosa. Alcoolul este disponibil in hotelurile si restaurantele autorizate, dar consumul de alcool in public este interzis.
  3. Moneda locala este dinarul Bahraini (BHD). Cardurile de credit sunt acceptate pe scara larga, dar este bine sa aveti la dvs. ceva numerar pentru cumparaturi mici.
